This place is all about relaxation and epic views. It features charming tipi cabins set against the backdrop of the majestic Andes mountains. If you’re looking for elevated camping in the Sacred Valley, you cannot miss this!

Imagine waking up, stepping outside your cabin, and—bam!—a breathtaking panorama greets you. There are also llamas roaming right on the property. Does it get any better? Well—yes, because you can actually feed these llamas straight from the comfort of your jacuzzi!

Plus, the Maras Salt Mines are just a 10-minute drive away.

Arrival and First Impressions

Cozy A-frame cabin with breathtaking mountain views – the perfect retreat.

The drive to The Mountain View Experience was like something you’d see on a postcard. As we cruised the winding roads, the mountains grew more prominent and grander with every turn. Lush green valleys stretched as far as the eye could see, with horses grazing peacefully in the meadows.

Pulling up to The Mountain View Experience was unforgettable. The scenery was unreal—stunning Andes mountains surrounded us, with beautiful valleys in every direction and llamas and alpacas roaming freely.

The Starry Nights

The Mountain View Experience offers unparalleled stargazing opportunities. As the day drew to a close, we watched the sunset disappear behind the mountains, and later, bright stars twinkled above. The sky was so clear it felt like we could see every single star in the universe. Then, we curled up by the fireplace before bed—an experience we’ll never forget!

The Wake-Up

The best part about waking up at The Mountain View Experience wasn’t a fancy alarm clock (spoiler alert: there wasn’t one). Instead, it was the adorable hotel dog greeting us on the porch with a wagging tail—seriously, the cutest way to start the day!

Llama Love Is in the Air!

But the real stars of the show are the llamas! Waking up, walking to the balcony, and seeing a herd of llamas waiting for us was like a dream. We spent the morning soaking in the jacuzzi, surrounded by these gentle giants, and feeding them!

This property features six awesome A-frame cabins. They’re the perfect blend of rustic charm and comfort. We stayed in the largest one, the Ancestral A-Frame, which was incredible.

This wasn’t just your average hotel room—it was a whole vibe! The cabin was spacious and decorated with beautiful Andean touches, making it feel cozy and luxurious. Location, Location, Location!

When you’re deciding where to stay in Sacred Valley, Peru, location is an important consideration; The Mountain View Experience offers an excellent location. The hotel offers breathtaking views of majestic mountains and lush valleys. It is also a perfect base camp for exploring the Sacred Valley.  Some of the best places to visit in Peru are located within a short distance of the Mountain View Experience property, including the Moray archaeological site, numerous hiking trails, and the famous Maras Salt Mines.

The Maras Salt Mines (locally known as “Salineras de Maras”) have been used since pre-Incan times. Thousands of small, shallow pools are spread across the hillside, creating a dazzling mosaic that glistens in the sunlight. The salt forms as the water evaporates, leaving behind piles of crystals. This natural process has been ongoing for centuries, with local families maintaining the pools for generations. The salt harvested here is rich in minerals and prized for its health benefits and unique flavor.
