EXPERIENCING A PERUVIAN ECO CAMP

Dome Sweet Dome – I found my happy place!

Glamping in Peru

If the words glamping and Machu Picchu appeal to you, Peru Eco Camp was made for you!

The property offers a unique opportunity to experience glamping in Peru with five eco camps spread out on the way to Machu Picchu. Instead of conventional hotel rooms, the camp offers futuristic, dome-shaped tents that seem straight out of a sci-fi movie.

Peru Eco Camp is the first establishment to offer private, luxury campsites in Peru’s iconic mountain range, the Andes. The property’s geodesic domes allow guests a front-row seat to the most breathtaking mountains you’ve ever seen and a canopy of millions of twinkling stars—all that plus five-star service and the beautiful Humantay Lake just 40 minutes away.

I had seen eco domes before and always dreamed of experiencing an eco-camp stay of my own. I was excited to discover Peru Eco Camp, a property in the Mollepata district in the heart of the Andes.

Perhaps most impressively, the property does all of this while going above and beyond to practice sustainability. It uses solar energy for electricity and maintains its own garden, which keeps guests fed with fresh produce.

Arrival and First Impressions

The journey from the Sacred Valley to Mollepata took three to four hours. But trust me, it was totally worth it. As we wound through the mountains, the breathtaking views built my excitement for what was to come.

Upon arrival at the camp, the bright turquoise domes stood out against the vibrant flower gardens, creating a magical atmosphere. The family who ran the camp warmly welcomed us and offered us Coca tea to help us adjust to the altitude. The camp’s resident cat even came to say hello, adding to the place’s charm.

What to Expect of the Geodesic Domes

Highlights of The Domes:

  • Private Luxury Experience: Only one family stays per night, ensuring privacy and exclusivity.
  • Comfortable Geodesic Domes: Enjoy mountain views and a cozy bed—perfect for both adventure and relaxation!
  • Wood-Burning Stove: Keeps you warm during chilly nights.
  • King-Size Bed with Soft Blankets: For ultimate comfort.
  • Private Bathroom with Hydromassage Shower: Experience some luxury in the wilderness.
  • Panoramic Windows: Offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
  • Table and Chairs: For those moments of quiet reflection or simply enjoying a cup of tea.

These domes are luxurious glamping pods that blend comfort with eco-conscious design. Completely private, they offer an oasis of tranquility in the Andes. Inside, you’ll find a plush king-size bed, a hot shower with massaging jets (talk about fancy), a wood stove to keep you cozy, and plenty of fluffy blankets.

The entire camp is powered by solar energy, sustains itself with organic gardens, and relies on natural water sources—so you can relax in style, knowing you’re minimizing your environmental footprint.

The geodesic eco domes at Peru Eco Camp are marvels of design and comfort. With panoramic windows offering stunning mountain views, they feature eco-friendly amenities and thoughtful touches that make your stay restful and inspiring.

The staff at Peru Eco Camp were incredible! They went above and beyond with their service—always offering a friendly smile and ready to help with anything you needed. They were super passionate about sustainability, and their knowledge of the area was incredible.
