Best Time to Travel To Copenhagen

For most travelers, the best time to visit Copenhagen is during spring or summer, when the weather is perfect for many activities within the city, like exploring the gardens, cruising the canals, or visiting the museums. For those wishing to see a different side of Copenhagen or avoid the tourist crowds, winters are chilly and humid but extremely atmospheric. The Christmas Market is also a great highlight of a winter trip to Copenhagen.

How to get around Copenhagen:

Copenhagen’s city center features many attractions and activities that are located close to one another, making it easy to explore on foot. The public transportation system is also highly modern and dependable. However, I recommend renting a bike if you want to get around like a local or are tired of walking. Most locals use bikes to get around. Fun fact: Copenhagen is famous for having more bikes than people!

Copenhagen Travel Tips:

Copenhagen is one of the most developed and well-organized cities in the world. There are no specific things to consider besides the general safety precautions when traveling. It is one of the safest destinations in the world, but there are still some areas where you might want to avoid traveling alone after dark. Danes are relatively laid-back and relaxed, but they do value punctuality and manners.

What to Pack For a Trip to Copenhagen

There are no specific things to pack when traveling to Copenhagen during the summer besides regular clothing to protect you from the sun or the rain. The days and nights are pretty cold in winter, so warm clothes and good boots are recommended. If you plan on renting a bike in Copenhagen, consider bringing clothes that will allow you to cycle comfortably.
